Government Consultant, Local Government Practice
Josh Baumgartner focuses on the firm’s local government relations practice in the Tampa Bay area market. He brings with him an extensive network and a diverse background in government relations, economic development, community relations and business development.
Josh previously served as Director of External Affairs at TECO. He was responsible for leading a regional external affairs team, developing and implementing strategies on efforts related to local government relations, community relations, economic development and corporate citizenship. Prior to joining TECO, Josh served as the Senior Vice President of Strategy and Advocacy for the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce. In this role he managed the organization’s local, state and federal government relations. Josh has worked on political and non-profit campaigns in Virginia, South Carolina and Florida.
He is a lifetime member of Leadership Florida and a graduate of Leadership Tampa. He has served on board and committee roles with the Tampa Downtown Partnership, the Tampa Bay Chamber, the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council, the Plant City Economic Development Council and Mayor Jane Castor’s Sustainability and Resiliency Task Force.
Josh lives in South Tampa with his wife Sarah, son Howie and daughter Annmarie. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Hampden-Sydney College and a master’s degree from The Citadel Military College of South Carolina.
